Wellness writing saved my life.

You read that right. Without the books and articles that I read on wellness, I wouldn’t have been able to heal myself or even access the tools for that healing. And I know I’m not the only one. (Wellness professionals, your new affirmation: My words help!)

I firmly believe that factual, approachable writing is the key to making whole-body wellness possible for all people. After all, without those books I read and those articles I devoured, I wouldn’t have discovered the tools for healing myself. And without practicing my writing, I wouldn’t have learned how to implement these aids.

That’s why I am committed to teach others to use words as well as yoga to heal themselves. I “walk the talk” by creating fact-based wellness resources as a writer and yoga teacher. For my community, I host writing circles where we learn to use creative writing to heal ourselves and hold safe space with each other. And, through writing coaching & consultations, I provide personalized education on the craft of writing for wellness professionals and coaches.

If, anywhere in your soul, you feel the desire to write, please write. Write as a gift to yourself and others. Everyone has a story to tell. Writing is not about creating tidy paragraphs that sound lovely or choosing the “right” words. It’s just about noticing who you are and noticing life and sharing what you notice. When you write your truth, it is a love offering to the world because it helps us feel braver and less alone.

My Story

I have my share of experience struggling with health, both mental and physical. During my years of healing, I became a yoga teacher, health coach, and personal trainer. My physical practice helped my body heal but it was the written words I digested and created that truly moved me forward.

My school years as a poet and creative writer helped me channel my emotions into a less harmful, therapeutic form. I entered the full-time workforce by discovering the business-side of the words that saved my life. Over the course of nearly a decade in book marketing at a top-five global book publisher, I learned more about the powerful impact words have on our wellness.

Through my writing I want even the skeptics to know that holistic healing works. I don’t want anybody to feel unwelcome, unsafe, or incapable of whole-body wellness. Mine is not a holier-than-thou approach to woo-woo, this is a loving space where everyone is encouraged to challenge themselves safely and factually.

Gratefully,

Teresa
